Radiant RPZ-1-1276

RPZ-1-1276 is a phosphorescent pigment for coloring plastics and coatings that lets you control how dazzlingly bright you want the color to be. This strontium aluminate based compound responds quickly to daylight, incandescent, fluorescent or ultraviolet light and emits an intense bright green hue.

RPZ-1-1276 is notable for its impressive afterglow duration; emitting light for more than 10 hours after light absorption ceases.

Its afterglow depends on the concentration used, the surface area, and the amount of energy absorbed. These characteristics make it the ideal pigment for plastic applications such as acrylics, nylons, polystyrene, polyolefins and vinyl, and coatings.

During processing, strong acids can cause dissolution of the phosphorescent pigments. Humidity and sunlight can also cause darkening of the plastic pigments, and the intensity of the phosphorescence will be reduced by adding colorless extenders or colored pigments.
